And what a year it's been!
Just a recap - I've got a baby girl (Lilah) on the way, and am living a very surreal, bizarre, and continually fascinating life in the Middle East.
Just yesterday I went to visit the Rainbow Sheikh's car museum, and ate at a place called the "Happy Yemen" where, and I'm not quite sure but, they were angry I was there. There was a lot of yelling, a lot of confusion, and when asking for a menu I got the option, in barely discernible English, 'Fish, Chicken'. I got Fish and the wife got chicken and I have to say - It was OUTSTANDING!
They just split the fish down the center whole, rubbed some spices on it, and threw it on a fire and served it to me. No silverware, no napkins, and I'm damn lucky an Indian took pity on us and brought us water.
But there we say, happily eating our meals amidst the chaos of the screaming psychotic arabic waiter, the rowdy bearded kitchen staff, and the host of other Arab men yammering away. Oh and my wife was the only woman in the place, which couldn't have felt good..
But god damn it was one of the best meals we've had here.
And this is just one day of the absolute host of days in our bizarre and wacky existence over here.
So yes, hell is frozen over, I'm going to be a dad (inshallah), I'm happily married, and living in the god damned Middle East.
